The LIFE Climate Foundation Liechtenstein was established at the beginning of 2009 and is a public-benefit foundation under Liechtenstein law entered in the Public Register. As a non-profit foundation, it is subject to supervision by the Foundation Supervisory Authority (STIFA).
The goals of the LIFE Climate Foundation Liechtenstein are to promote and raise awareness in the entire field of climate protection and sustainability. The focus is primarily on initiating and promoting concrete sustainability projects that can serve as role models for other projects. The LIFE Climate Foundation thus sees itself as a competence center in the field of sustainability and as a driver of sustainable action. Its activities are designed to make a contribution so that our environment can be preserved for future generations under the motto "for a better life".
The sponsors of the foundation include the Government of the Principality of Liechtenstein, the Liechtenstein Bankers Association, the Liechtenstein Institute of Professional Trustees and Fiduciaries, the Liechtenstein Investment Fund Association, the Liechtenstein Insurance Association, and the University of Liechtenstein. Thanks to the participation of the private sector, academia, and the public sector, the LIFE Climate Foundation Liechtenstein serves as a private-public partnership to network the important actors in the field of sustainability and to bring them to the table together. All work is performed by the sponsors in the form of corporate volunteering.
