The Liechtenstein Chamber of Lawyers has been an autonomous corporation under public law since 1992. Its responsibilities include maintaining the honor, reputation, and independence of lawyers in Liechtenstein as well as monitoring their duties. All lawyers admitted in Liechtenstein are members of the Liechtenstein Chamber of Lawyers.
On 1 January 2014, the Liechtenstein Chamber of Lawyers replaced the Financial Market Authority Liechtenstein as the issuer of licenses under the Lawyers Act.
In addition to its statutory responsibilities, the Liechtenstein Chamber of Lawyers represents the interests of its members. One of its core responsibilities is also to ensure that citizens are granted legal protection and that they have effective and efficient means at their disposal when private or public parties encroach upon their personal affairs.
